When the Oncologist said I had Leukaemia my world changed forever.

Unfortunately, the Chemo took its toll on my body; on what we now refer to as my Microbiome and my mental health, as well as my cancer.

It was this experience that started my well-ness journey.

The NHS team that took care of me worked hard, over a number of years, to give me a second chance. The best way for me to say “thank you” has been to really grasp it.

I stared practicing yoga with a lovely teacher called Denise (Roots and Boots Lifestyle), I grew in strength and flexibility, my mental wellbeing improved BUT I somehow knew this wasn’t the complete answer.

I’ve always been a keen cook and equally keen eater, but never gave a second thought to how the food I was eating was impacting my wellbeing.

I started researching; reading more books than I have space to list here, taking courses and, as I grew in knowledge, I tested my learning on myself. Now more than 10 years after I finished a long, and gruelling Cancer treatment journey; I am so grateful to be able to say that I am truly well.

I started ‘Good Gut Great Day’ (GGGD) as a way to share my learning and personal experience. I hope that via a series of workshops and sharing tips and hacks here, on Facebook and Instagram, I can explain how changing when, and what, you eat can be truly life enhancing.

Welcome aboard.
